LiviPod App automatic updates for Android phones

LiviPod App automatic updates for Android phones

Keeping LiviPod App set to update automatically means you'll always have the latest features, security patches, and bug fixes without having to check the Play Store yourself. Many issues customers report to our support team are already fixed in a newer version, so turning this on is the quickest way to avoid them.

This article covers Android devices. Steps may look slightly different depending on your device manufacturer and Android version.

Before you begin

  • Make sure you're signed in to the Google Play Store with the Google account you used to install LiviPod.
  • Connect to Wi-Fi if you'd prefer updates not to use your mobile data.

Option 1: Turn on auto-updates for all apps

This is the simplest approach and keeps every app on your device current.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Network preferences, then tap Auto-update apps.
  5. Choose one of the following:
    • Over any network — apps update using Wi-Fi or mobile data.
    • Over Wi-Fi only — apps update only when you're connected to Wi-Fi. (Recommended if you have a limited data plan.)
  6. Tap Done.

That's it. Updates will now install in the background, usually while your device is charging and connected to Wi-Fi.

Option 2: Turn on auto-updates for LiviPod only

If you'd rather control updates app by app, you can enable automatic updates for just LiviPod.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Manage apps & device, then tap the Manage tab.
  4. Find and tap LiviPod in the list.
  5. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  6. Turn on Enable auto update so the checkbox is selected.

How to confirm it worked

  1. Open the Google Play Store and tap your profile icon.
  2. Tap Manage apps & device.
  3. Under Updates available, check whether LiviPod appears. If it doesn't, you're already on the latest version.

You can also tap Update all at any time to install pending updates immediately rather than waiting for the automatic update to run.

Troubleshooting

Updates aren't installing automatically

Automatic updates typically run when your device is charging, connected to Wi-Fi, and idle. If your device is rarely in that state, updates may be delayed. You can always update manually using the steps above.

"Waiting for Wi-Fi" or the update never starts

Your auto-update setting is likely set to Over Wi-Fi only. Either connect to Wi-Fi or change the setting to Over any network (Option 1, step 5). Be aware this may use mobile data.

Not enough storage space

Updates need free space to install. Go to Settings > Storage on your device and clear space by removing unused apps, photos, or downloads, then try again. On Samsung Galaxy devices, this is under Settings > Battery and device care > Storage.

Data Saver or Battery Saver is on

These modes can block background downloads. Try turning them off temporarily in your device Settings, then check for updates again.
